Who we are
This website is operated by Home Better (ABN 38 604 543 884), Shop 17, Thrift Park Shopping Centre, 171–187 Nepean Hwy, Mentone VIC 3194. "We", "us" and "our" mean Home Better. By using this site or buying from it, you agree to these terms.
We run this site ourselves — it is not a marketplace, and we are the seller of everything on it. Payment is handled by Stripe; see our Privacy policy for who else is involved in getting an order to you.
Buying from us
Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. We ship within Australia only.
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A sale is made when we accept it and take payment. We may decline or cancel an order — and will refund you in full if we have already charged you — where an item has sold out, where a price or description was wrong, or where we reasonably suspect fraud.
We try hard to describe and photograph products accurately, but screens render colour differently and specifications can change between production runs. If what arrives is not what was described, that is covered by your rights below.
Stock levels and prices shown on the site can change without notice. The price that applies to your order is the one shown at checkout when you paid.
The devices we sell
These are ZigBee devices intended to be used with a ZigBee coordinator and software such as Home Assistant or ZigBee2MQTT. Most need a gateway you supply yourself; the product page says so where that is the case. We do not warrant that a device will work with every hub, firmware version or third-party integration in existence, and third-party software is not ours to support.
Some devices connect to mains wiring. In Australia, fixed electrical work must be done by a licensed electrician. Nothing on this site is electrical advice, and you are responsible for having installation done lawfully and safely.
Your rights, and the limits of ours
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees as to acceptable quality and fitness for purpose. If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss. See our Refund policy.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees or any other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Beyond what the law guarantees, and to the extent the law allows us to limit our liability, our liability for any claim connected with a product or with this site is limited — at our option — to replacing the product, supplying an equivalent, or refunding what you paid for it. We are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, and we do not accept liability for loss caused by installation that was not carried out lawfully or in line with the manufacturer's instructions.
Using the site
Please do not attempt to break into the site, disrupt it, scrape it, or use it to do anything unlawful. We may refuse service to anyone doing so.
The text, photographs and design on this site are ours. You are welcome to link to us; please do not copy the content wholesale for another shop.
We may change the site, the catalogue, or these terms. Changes take effect when posted here, and the version in force for your order is the one published when you ordered.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction. This does not affect any right you have to bring a claim where you live in Australia.
